Flowers are a very important part of life in Zinacantan -Mayan culture Mexico, growing and exporting flowers is the town’s main industry. Zinacatecan textiles are noted for their colorful embroidery in flamboyant reds, pinks, purples, and blues. The work is done outdoors in the family yard with most of the women attached to a waist loom. Both men and women wear profusely embroidered floral textiles and I just fell in love with the amazing shawls with their fuchsia tassels.
